About Our Diamonds
Which Diamond is More Beautiful? Can You Tell by Looking at These Reports?

We Can't. Not Without Looking at the Actual Diamond.
That's why we carefully inspect every diamond before accepting it to be presented in our stores. We select diamonds not just based on the statistics on a grading report; we choose them for stunning visual beauty as well. And two diamonds - even with virtually identical certification - can still look very different. That's the danger of buying online. And why you should buy with your eyes, not by the stats. At Robbins Brothers. we'll show you your diamond under a gemscope so you know exactly what you're getting.
Shopping For A Diamond
Q: Should I buy my diamond online?
A: It is great to get a general sense of what is out there by looking online. However, when it comes to purchasing and comparing diamonds then it becomes extremely difficult. A diamond certificate (GIA, EGL, AGS, etc) was intended to give the buyer a sense of comfort that someone other than the company selling them the diamond independently graded it. What a diamond certificate can't do for you is tell you how beautiful or brilliant your diamond is. Even diamonds with the same exact weight and letter grades can be visually very different when compared side-by-side in person. The best way to buy a diamond is to be able to compare different diamonds loose side by side in a color grading tray. This way the visual beauty of each diamond is compared to others so you can make an informed decision.
Q: Should I compare diamond prices online?
A: In the early shopping stages this is a good idea so you can decide what kind of budget you would like to have before purchasing. When it comes time to purchase it's very difficult to shop online and know exactly what you're getting for your money because you can't see the visual beauty of the diamond. The diamond certificate can't tell you how beautiful or brilliant your diamond is. A diamond is as unique as a snowflake or a fingerprint. No two diamonds are exactly alike. So a diamond is not a commodity and it should not be purchased without ever seeing it compared to other diamonds of the same or similar quality. What this means is that it is almost impossible to see the certificates for two different diamonds on two different internet websites that have prices and know which one is a better price and which diamond is more beautiful and brilliant.
Q: What is the Robbins Brothers Difference?
Why should I Buy from Robbins Brothers.
A: Selection - Each Robbins Brothers location carries hundreds of diamonds to choose from so you can easily compare diamonds side by side for visual beauty.
A: Quality - Our diamond buyers are very demanding and reject 9 out of 10 certified diamonds shown because they do not have enough visual beauty (they don't sparkle enough).
A: Price - Robbins Brothers buys diamonds direct from sightholders all around the world which means we eliminate the middlemen and will pass those savings on to you.
A: Education - We strongly recommend you buy a diamond by seeing its visual beauty by using the tools of a professional diamond buyer. Even diamonds with the same exact weight and letter grades can be visually very different when compared side-by-side in person.
