Christmas Time Celebrations
Getting hitched during the holidays? It's a wonderful time to do so! December brings many simple pleasures... the sweet smells of baked goods, the familiar sound of carols, and gorgeous sights of Christmas lights. It's the season of "perpetual giving" and what better time to give yourselves to one another in love?
Here are a couple of my favorite ideas for keeping in tradition with a Christmas themed wedding:
Personalized tree ornaments as edding favors! Consider putting your names and wedding date on it so guest will remember this special occasion years from now as they decorate their own tree. You can present these favors one of two ways. You can set them at the guest's place settings (as commonly done), or even better, place them on a large decorated Christmas tree for guests to pick up on their way out - what a sight!
You can also use ornaments as escort cards. In this case, the ornaments should be personalized with your guest's name and their table number. Instead of just placing the ornaments on a table, think about placing them on a large decorated Christmas tree. Again, the tree will make quite a statement at your cocktail hour.
Take it a step further and use these ornaments as part of the centerpieces too! I suggest bare Manzanita trees for your centerpieces in which the favors can already be hung or guests can hang their "escort cards" from the tree once they find their table. The tree will also look great with some votive candles hanging from the branches or other simply-stated touches of décor. Note: Don't use small Christmas trees as centerpieces because they will block your guests from seeing each other across the table and hinder conversation.
