A Fairytale Wedding

Lynette and Graham live in Santa Monica, California, but decided they wanted a true Destination Wedding. They loved the idea of having their friends and family together... away from home... for an extended amount of time... sort of like a "wedding holiday." It only made sense to choose England, a meaningful location to the bride, who was born and raised in Great Britain. The Wedding was set to take place July 3, 2008.

The week's festivities began with a proper Stag and Hen Party (or, a Bachelor and Bachelorette Party) in Liverpool. Incorporating the American tradition of a Rehearsal Dinner the night before the wedding, the bride and groom rented out an English pub in the Cheshire countryside with a picturesque view of Beeston Castle just across the river. And following the wedding day, most guests stopped by the Farewell Brunch to say their final congrats or goodbyes (this was held at yet another charming English pub).

As for the Wedding Day, guests were shuttled to the beautiful, 14th century Bunbury Church for Lynette and Graham's Wedding Ceremony. The Bride was stunning in her 100% pure silk wedding gown which was custom made for her in London. In the presence of 85 American guests and 40 British guests, Lynette and Graham recited their wedding vows and made their lifelong commitment to each other.

We then shuttled everyone to Peckforton Castle for the reception, while the bride and groom followed in a "Ford Model A" hired car. Guests were greeted with bucks fizz drinks (mimosas, that is!) and some dabbled in a game of croquet in the Castle courtyard. The toastmaster brought all inside when it was time for the Wedding Breakfast. The British call it a breakfast, as opposed to a dinner, because this is their first meal together as husband and wife. After a delicious meal and some tearful toasts, we made our way into the next room of the Castle for cake and dancing. The late night hog roast helped continue the celebration into the early morning hours... And they lived happily ever after!

Thank you to Lynette and Graham for the amazing opportunity to be part of their Fairytale Wedding! I am truly honored to be their Wedding Planner and, even more so, blessed to be their friend. xoxo
